Quick Bytes Thur, June 23rd: Tesla Motors Inc(NASDAQ:TSLA), BlackBerry Ltd(NASDAQ:BBRY), Micron Technology Inc.(NASDAQ:MU)

A quick digest of what’s hot and trending for Thursday, June 23rd. Here are your quick news bytes (yes we know it is bites) to get you caught up quickly with some interesting reads. It’s a bit of a slow morning with not a lot to talk about but BrExit or a bunch of analyst upgrades, which while occasionally interesting are not my favorite reads:

  1. Noted Tesla Motors Inc(NASDAQ:TSLA) bull analyst, Morgan Stanley’s Adam Jones has finally capitulated. Adam Jones has been known for his projections for Tesla that extend really out into the future to build a bull case. Jones downgrades TSLA from Equal Weight to Overweight on the SolarCity move, calling  the move a thesis changer as the risks outweigh the strategic rationale. Jones still maintains a price target of $245 down from $333. (SeekingAlpha)
  2. BlackBerry Ltd(NASDAQ:BBRY)‘s FQ1 EPS was $0.00 per share, and beat the -0.08 per share expected. BlackBerry had a weak top-line number as smartphones and service-access fee revenues were weaker than expected. Software revenue did increase 21 percent and came in better than expected. The company set guidance for 15 cents a share loss for FY2017, which was better than the 31 cents loss expected. (Bloomberg)
  3. Micron Technology Inc.(NASDAQ:MU) had two upgrades this morning as Nomura jumped it from Reduce to Buy with a Price Target of $18, up from $8. Susquehanna upgraded Micron to Positive from Neutral and raised its Price Traget to $18 from $10 (SeekingAlpha)
  4. Home Depot Inc(NYSE:HD) gets an upgrade from Nomura to Buy from Neutral and the price taret is raised from $140 to $155. Analyst Jessica Schoen Mace at Nomrua noted that the biggest change in their position is the notion that slowing home price growth posed a great risk. (StreetInsider)
