BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) has revamped Enterprise Partner Program as part of an effort that seeks to ensure partners achieve accelerated growth to drive profit. The redesigned program will now include an integrated and simplified pricing structure among new channels.

Pricing and Channel Changes

The Enterprise Partner program has since been split into three tiers. Authorized, gold, and platinum are the three tiers that BlackBerry says will open up four times the market opportunities for partners. The upgrade also includes changes to the channel program in which partners will now be able to generate recurring revenue through per-user pricing models.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) has also confirmed it is merging Good Technology and WatchDox, two companies it acquired last year. By merging the two, the software giant hopes to simplify channel prices. The reinvented channel will also offer a new deal registration, partner competencies, and training curriculum for partners.

The Canadian company says the redesigned program strives to help partners take advantage of secure mobile business solutions. Enabling new partner service capabilities and integrate mobile business solutions is also part of the big plan.

Focusing On Software and Services

Richard McLeod Vice President Global Channels at BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) says the new changes will help partners grow their businesses by empowering them on how to increase value and improve competitive differentiation.

“The renewed BlackBerry Enterprise Partner Program for solutions providers will enable our partners to capture the rich consulting, professional services, and support and software lifecycle management opportunities created in their move to mobile business,” said Mr. McLeod,

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) also plans to help partners collect feedback and input that they can use to market their products.

The new channel initiative comes at a time when the Canadian company is trying to sharpen its focus on security software and services. Spearheading the company’s efforts on this front is McLeod, who comes with vast experience after years in Cisco. Alex Thurber, another Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO), and WatchGuard veteran is another executive the company is relying on as it continues to bet big on software.

Having felt the full wrath of competition on the hardware front BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) has been left with no other option other than pursuing growth opportunities on software and services.
