HP Inc (NYSE:HPQ) took the opportunity at the CES 2016 to show off a lineup of revamped EliteBooks with the lead model being the EliteBook Folio G1, which features aluminum chassis and 12.5-inch display. One gets the impression that HP’s latest EliteBooks combine premium consumer design with enterprise-grade capabilities to render an elegant and durable device.

HP Inc (NYSE:HPQ)’s optimized EliteBooks run on Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Windows 10 Pro and are powered by Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC)’s processors. The new EliteBooks are available in different flavors. Besides the flagship EliteBook Folio, which boasts 12.5-inch screen, there are the 14-inch and 15.6-inch EliteBooks, which are not all aluminum-bodied like the 12.5-inch model.

Display quality

HPQ’s new EliteBooks are available in three different display qualities as 4K, full HD touch and full HD non-touch display variants.

The EliteBook Folio model

The EliteBook Folio notebook is equipped with a screen that can turn 180 degrees to open flat on the table. It also comes with a glass display that runs from edge to edge.

Powered by the 6th generation of Intel’s ore-M vPro processor, the EliteBook Folio is fanless and consumes less power. HP Inc (NYSE:HPQ) says its battery can last 10 hours. Connection in the Folio notebook can be achieved through two USB-C ports that come with support of Thunderbolt 3. HPQ has promised to make an optional USB-C Travel Dock available on the EliteBook Folio as it approaches the March launch.

Collaboration tools

Elegance aside, HPQ’s revamped EliteBooksare production tools that boast military-grade capabilities. The EliteBook Folio, for instance, is equipped with dual microphones that are capable of cancelling noise in case you are having you conversation in a noisy room. The notebook also comes with built-in 4-speaker system that further support group collaboration. HPQ claims that the speakers in the EliteBook Folio are 40% louder than those in the earlier versions of EliteBooks.

The new EliteBooks also feature a number of collaborative keys to further enhance their appeal as production machines.

Security features

HP Inc (NYSE:HPQ) has built a number of security features in the optimized EliteBooks, including fingerprint reader, HP SureStart and Client Security Software Suite among others.

Availability and pricing

HP Inc (NYSE:HPQ)’s flagship EliteBook Folio will be available in the U.S. beginning March at prices of about 999 euros.
