eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) lures Thanksgiving shoppers with Wishbone Deals
eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) has put a spin to the famous turkey wishbone holiday tradition by coming up with what it calls a Wishbone promotion. In the promotion, eBay is letting shoppers decide the items they want deals on through voting. The strategy involves two items being put up on vote and shoppers weigh in by voting for the item they want to enjoy a discounted price. eBay’s strategy is expected to save shoppers the usual chaos of chasing Black Friday deals in-stores and online.
eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY)’s Wishbone promotion is blowing fresh air into the Black Friday/Thanksgiving deals hunting. The merchant has come up with time-bound deals where shoppers have to first express their interest in an item before they can enjoy discounts on it. The company has already started the Wishbone promotion countdown on its site.
Items on offer under Wishbone promotion
eBay’s Wishbone Deal covers a wide variety of items available at different hours of the day. One of the Wishbone Deals on offer on eBay is Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Apple Watch (stainless steel case) vying for votes against GoPro Inc (NASDAQ:GPRO)’s HERO4 camera. The other Wishbone items are Bell & Ross Airspeed Watch vs. Prada Sunglasses.
Under the Wishbone promotion, the item that garners the most votes is unlocked for shoppers to get it at a discount. However, eBay says the quantity available are limited, which means that shoppers should move fast to grab the deals.
Through Wishbone Deals, eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) is not only treating shoppers to discounts on popular items as voted by them, but also gets an opportunity to foster customers interaction on its platform. Perhaps eBay could end up creating a holiday trend with its Wishbone promotion that allows shoppers to unlock the deals they want.
In-demand Thanksgiving gift items
As eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) opens up the opportunity for voters to decide on the deals they want on its platform, it is also emerging that Sony Corp (ADR) (NYSE:SNE)’s PlayStation 4 is among the most wanted Thanksgiving gifts this year.
