Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Google (GOOG), Microsoft And IBM Occupy Top Slots In Interbrand’s Global Brands Report


Interbrand’s annual Best Global Brands ranking for 2015 are out, and Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is on top of the world – once again. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has also retained its second-best position in the Best Global Brands 2015 report. In the 2015 list, International Business Machines Corp. (NYSE:IBM) swapped places with Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT). Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:KO), once the top global brand for a number of years, finished in the third place in the latest report.

Interbrand bases its ranking of global brands on a number of factors. These include financial performance of a brand, influence of a brand on consumer choice and ability of a brand to secure premium earnings for the company behind it. After considering all these factors, Interbrand established that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), the name behind iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch and more, is the best brand in the world in 2015.

Apple’s brand valuation rise 43%

By topping the Best Global Brands 2015 list, Apple is celebrating its third lead in a row in the Interbrand rankings. Apple’s brand value is cited at more than $170 billion, indicating that the brand value increased over 43% the previous year’s valuation.

Google brand value up 12%

Technology companies dominated Interbrand’s list of best global brands this year. Google emerged the second-best global brand both overall and among technology brands in the 2015 list. Google’s brand value rose 12% from last year to more than $120 billion this year.

In the top five best global brands, Coca-Cola disrupted technology listing to come third. Microsoft came in the fourth place immediately behind Coca-Cola. IBM closed the list of the best five global brands, but the brand slipped in the latest rankings considering that IBM was fourth-placed in last year’s Interbrand ranking list.

Samsung’s global brand ranking in the 2015 list stood in the seventh positions same as last year. Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) edged up in the latest ranking list to book its place among the top 10 brands.

Facebook jumps ranking the most

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) rose the most in the Best Global Brands 2015 ranking list to come in at position 23.
