What’s in Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s New Nexus Phones And Pixel C tablet?
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) has unveiled two versions of Nexus smartphones as was widely expected. The company also introduced improved Chromecast devices. But the Pixel C tablet was a major surprise, and you know what it runs? Android is right.
Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG)’s new Nexus phones go by the names Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. They came from two different manufacturers with Huawei doing the Nexus 6P device. The Nexus 5X is the smaller one featuring 5.2-inch display and the Nexus 6P boasts 5.7-inch display. There are a number of firsts in both the Nexus 5X and its big brother Nexus 6P.
As for the tablet, the Pixel C is a sharp departure from Google’s known tablet strategy. The company reportedly worked on everything about Pixel C in-house, and who knows what it could do next with the Nexus phone that it currently outsources?
The two Nexus phones are pieces of creativity
The two Nexus smartphones are different in some ways and similar in others. For example, they both run Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Both have USB-Type C charging capability, fingerprint reader at the back and more.
The Nexus 5X
The Nexus 5X is a produced by LG. It features a 5.2-inch display and renders 1080p HD resolution. The phone is powered by Qualcomm, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM)’s Snapdragon 808 chip. For $380, you get yourself an entry-level Nexus 5X equipped with 16GB onboard storage.
The Nexus 6P is produced by China’s Huawei. So much has been said about why Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) involved Huawei in the production of a Nexus phone, including the possibility that Google is plotting its return to China.
Away from speculations, Nexus 6P is a smartphone that boasts an all-metal housing, the first of its kind in the Nexus family. The device features a 5.7-inch display that delivers quad-HD resolution. Snapdragon 810 v2.1 chip is inside the Nexus 6P together with 13GB of RAM. You have a 12.3-MP rear capture in Nexus 6P paired with an 8-MP front shooter for selfies. The base level Nexus 6P will set you back $500 and that ships with 32GB of onboard storage. The other storage options are 64GB and 128GB.
Pixel C tablet
The Pixel C tablet runs Android as opposed to ChromeOS. The tablet features 10.2-inch display and a keyboard that fits through magnetic force. The base level Pixel C renders 32GB of storage and starts at $500. Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) designed and built Pixel C all by itself.
