Sprint Corp (NYSE:S) CEO, Marcelo Claure, indicated that the company’s turnaround process is taking shape and is on track. He said that he could see some clear signs to that effect. For instance, he pointed out that the company was able to add mobile subscribers in the postpaid section for four consecutive months. It was the first time in about forty months that the telecom service provider was able to achieve the feat.

Network Improvement

Sprint Corp (NYSE:S)’s CEO, Claure, also softened the timeline somewhat for the network enhancement. Now he said that he wants the company’s network to be ranked number one or two in 80% of the big markets by the turn of the year 2017. There is already a tug of war between the company and T-Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) for the third slot. Both companies claim that they are occupying the third slot.

The CEO, Claure, said that from the perspective of the network, the company was getting better all of a sudden. He also expects that its pricing, network, and leasing approach of new device should allow its churn rate to improve. He also indicated that Sprint Corp (NYSE:S)’s macro cell sites would be enhanced to support 800 MHz, 1900 MHz, and 2.5 GHz for LTE.

To Deploy Thousands Of Macro Sites

The telecom service provider said that it would deploy thousands of fresh macro sites apart from thousands of small cells. The company’s CEO indicated that a decision is expected in the next few on the question of whether it can participate in the broadcast incentive function. That was meant for 600 MHz spectrum.

Both Sprint Corp (NYSE:S) and T-Mobile US Inc (NYSE:TMUS) are fighting the third position in terms of the overall customers addition and the growth. Both of them were claiming to be the third biggest telecom operator in the United States. It remains to be seen whether T–Mobile US Inc will also come up with a similar statement that the company was the beneficiary of the growth.
