Juniper Networks, Inc. (JNPR) Partners Ruckus Wireless Inc (RKUS)

Juniper Networks, Inc. (NYSE:JNPR) disclosed that it is aligning with Ruckus Wireless Inc (NYSE:RKUS) to provide solutions to government, enterprises, and educational clients. The alliance will allow them to offer EX series Ethernet switches of Juniper with Zoneflex Wi-Fi access points of Rukus. SmartZone Wi-Fi management software would also be offered to the clients.

Integration Of Security And Hardware

Both Juniper Networks, Inc. (NYSE:JNPR) and Ruckus Wireless Inc (NYSE:RKUS) are also planning to link their security, as well as, hardware provisioning tools. The two companies would also amalgamate the products, which reduce the logical number of network devices that required to be monitored by the IT administrators. Interestingly, the partnership comes on the heels of Hewlett-Packard Company (NYSE:HPQ)’s acquisition of Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARUN). Incidentally, Aruba is a rival to Ruckus Wireless.

As far as Juniper Networks is concerned, it formed a partnership with Aruba Networks also last year. This is similar to the current agreement with Ruckus. Juniper indicated that Aruba continued to remain as a partner. The alliance was more significant to Ruckus Wireless Inc (NYSE:RKUS) than Juniper Networks, Inc. (NYSE:JNPR).

Moving Away From Aruba Relationship

However, the CEO of a channel partner of Juniper, Dan Ferguson, has reportedly said that Juniper is moving away from the alliance of Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARUN). He also said that the company needed to align with someone in the wireless space since they will not be able to go to the market with a large hole in their portfolio.

The president of another channel partner of Juniper Networks, Inc. (NYSE:JNPR), Mark Robinson, said that the agreement only reflected what everyone was thinking. That is the complete relationship between the Juniper and Aruba was not going as it was intended originally. Therefore, Ruckus Wireless Inc (NYSE:RKUS) is the right choice for it as perceived favorably in the marketplace. Also, he believes that it is an innovative company.
