eBay Inc (EBAY) Rolls Out EBAY 4.0
After the split, eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) will be launching a fresh user experience on mobile. This will be known as eBay 4.0 and will launch a universal look, as well as, feel for Apple iOS and Google Android. On top of this, the company will also provides more opportunities for personalization, as well as, customization in the future.
eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY)’s upgrade is a significant one for the online auctioneer due to its significant presence in the mobile device. Its apps were downloaded 279 million times. 60% of customers reached the site by mobile. That suggests that customers invariably end up in using the site through the mobile device. Previously, the company concentrated on the different mobile platforms since the different OSes have evolved at different times. Due to this the company ended up providing a different user experience in each of its apps.
The release of 4.0 version will enable all apps to look and operate similarly. Another interesting aspect is that whenever there is an upgrade, the online auctioneer can create one and deploy internationally. That will help retain the basic user experience in consistent with the future also. Simplified New Design
The company indicated that the design has been simplified with a better cleaner, as well as, brighter look than ever before. There are three areas that the users mainly engaged with. They are front and centre as the main areas that users engage themselves with eBay. The company indicated that three categories like Activities, Shop, and Sell were featured at the mobile’s top of the screen but below the search box. As a result, it was not as prominent as before.
eBay Inc (NASDAQ:EBAY) has also brought browsing to the forefront in the layout and navigation. Earlier, the company focused on search. Now, the company appears to be fulfilling its promises to merge the features found in its Fashion and Motors apps.
