Facebook Inc (FB)’s Virtual Reality Headset Is Too Good To Miss

Even before Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) launches its virtual reality headset, there is a tremendous amount of interest in the product. There is already a feeling that the headset is a must-have and something not to be missed, according to a report by Business Insider. The social networking site has been expanding its area of operations or its presence so that there is no problem in revenue growth. Alternatively, any weakness in one segment could be compensated by the gain in the other division over the long term.

Next Year

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) acquired Oculus Rift for about $2 billion earlier. The acquisition is now set to provide results for it as the social networking site is readying itself to launch the virtual reality headset early next year.

Business Insider reported that it spent its time on putting the Oculus Rift’s consumer version through its paces. The report compared it with that of a goal scored by a hockey player. The report also indicated that they have explored 1930s Antarctica in ‘Edge of Nowhere’. Oculus Home, which is a futurist home environment, was also explored by the Business Insider.

Convincing

Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)’s Oculus Rift customer version removes any misgivings about the virtual reality headset product. The report suggests there is no need to be worried or skeptical about the product since the first consumer version of the virtual reality headset will convince anyone. There is also no need to worry about the ‘screen door effect’, which has ignited fresh debate. The screen-door effect is a visual artifact of projection technology used in digital projection where the fine lines separating projector pixels become visible in the project image.

The report also said that the consumer version of Oculus Rift virtual reality headset is hardly noticeable. Also, any doubts about ‘jutter’ or blur are totally unfounded. The report gives a clean thumps up to the product since it is not only crisp and comfortable but also immersive. In any case, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB)’s investment in Oculus Rift will start delivering revenue next year.
