The equity portfolio of Aquamarine Capital Management, LLC increased slightly to $151.42 million in quarter one of 2015, from $150.99 million in quarter four of 2014. The appreciation came on the back of a number of modifications to the portfolio mix.

Aquamarine took the opportunity in the first quarter to increase exposure to two stocks and also sold out of two other stocks.

The fund is very active in the Finance sector, which accounts for 55% of its portfolio. Aquamarine also has significant exposure to Consumer Discretionary, Materials and Technology industries.

Aquamarine has best bet in Fiat Chrysler (FCAU)

Aquamarine neither added nor reduced its stake in Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (NYSE:FCAU) between the fourth quarter of 2014 and first quarter of 2015. The fund owns 2 million shares in the company. Although there was no increase in the amount of shares held in Fiat Chrysler, the dollar value of the investment rose to $32.5 million at the end of quarter one, from $23.2 million at the end of quarter four.

Aquamarine keeps holding in American Express (AXP) intact

Aquamarine disclosed owning 272,430 shares in American Express Company (NYSE:AXP) at the end of the first quarter of 2015. The stake remained the same as at the end of the fourth quarter of 2014. However, the dollar value of the investment plunged to $21.3 million, from $25.3 million.

Stake in Berkshire (BRK.B) unchanged

Aquamarine neither reduced nor increased its exposure to Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRK.B) in the first quarter of 2015. The fund disclosed owning 140,600 shares in the company at the end of the quarter, same as at the end of the previous quarter. However, the financial value of the investment decreased slightly to $20.3 million, from $21.1 million.

Sold out positions

Aquamarine lost its love for Goldman Sachs Group Inc (NYSE:GS) and DIRECTV (NASDAQ:DTV) and discarded the names from its equity portfolio mix.

Aquamarine Capital Management’s top-10 equity holdings make up nearly 96% of its portfolio.
