Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ), Metlife Inc (NYSE:MET) and Express Scripts Holding Company (NASDAQ:ESRX): Croft-Leominster’s Best 3 Healthcare Picks

In the 1Q2015 filing to report its various holdings and trades in the quarter, Croft-Leominster Inc disclosed that its equity portfolio plunged to $543 million from more than $570 million at the end of 4Q2014.

The fund is active in Finance sectors, but it also has sizeable holding in Healthcare, Technology, Consumer Discretionary and Energy sectors.

During 1Q, Croft-Leominster reformed its portfolio mix, starting fresh positions in 15 stocks with American Express Company (NYSE:AXP), KLX Inc (NASDAQ:KLXI) and SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ:SPWR) being the largest new buys by dollar value.

The fund also took the opportunity in 1Q to delete a whopping 19 stocks from its portfolio. Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE:BRK.B), SBA Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:SBAC) and Laboratory Corp. of America Holdings (NYSE:LH) bore the brunt of the purge.

In other measures, Croft-Leominster increased holding in 34 stocks and reduced stakes in 80 other stocks during 1Q.

Croft-Leominster is active in Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) as the fund reported holding 108,668 shares in the company at the end of 1Q. The stake was valued at $10.9 million at the end of the quarter. However, Johnson & Johnson was one of the stocks in which Croft-Leominster reduced its holding. The fund previously owned 113,552 shares in the company at the end of 4Q, a stake that was valued at $11.9 million.

The stake in Metlife Inc (NYSE:MET) was 206,272 shares at the end of 1Q, worth more than $10.4 million. Croft-Leominster decreased its holding in Metlife during the quarter given that its previous stake was 215,204 shares valued at $11.6 million.

Croft-Leominster lowered its holding in Express Scripts Holding Company (NASDAQ:ESRX) to 119,624 shares from 132,609 shares at the end of 1Q. The financial value of the investment in Express Scripts also plunged to $10.4 million from $11.2 million.
