QUALCOMM, Inc. (QCOM): Now Audio Can Be Inputted Into AllPlay Wifi Streaming Platform
QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) disclosed that there were additional options now available to input its Audio into the company’s AllPlay WiFi streaming platform. As a result, the feature would help Bluetooth, as well as, analog audio input that supported gadgets. The additional features would undoubtedly become a boost to the users.
Distribution through Satellite Speakers
According to QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM), after the Bluetooth-streamed audio connects the ‘master’ gadget, the audio would then be distributed through WiFi to satellite speakers. The company clarified that speakers need not have to be from the same makers. Currently, Bluetooth became the de facto process for streaming music to speakers wirelessly. This makes sense for the company to help supporting the protocol. The company said that analog inputs extend the AllPlay reach to gadgets such as home stereo systems and turntables without the need for wireless help.
Additionally, QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) disclosed about the feature of EQ. The company indicated that this feature would be made available to developers to help integrate their AllPlay powered apps. The chip maker has also cut down the latency of audio in AllPlay to less than 100 microseconds. This was done to ensure that the house will not sound like a gigantic echo chamber in case the user preferred to stream audio through multiple devices.
QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) allayed the fears about the update for EQ, Bluetooth and the latency. The company added that the update would be available through a firmware update to all these devices. As if this was not enough, the chip maker said that Analog input support would be available for future speakers, which executes the ports and feature.
The chip maker disclosed that AllPlay technology was adopted by makers such as Panasonic, Monster, Gramofon and Medion besides streaming music apps such as Rhapsody and Spotify. QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) indicated that Jay Z’s Tidal and Soundcloud have already disclosed that AllPlay implementation would come soon.
