Enhanced SIM for BlackBerry Ltd (BBRY) Enterprise Customers In China And Hong Kong

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) revealed that China Mobile Ltd. (ADR) (NYSE:CHL)’s fully owned subsidiary, China Mobile Hong Kong Company Ltd., or CMHK, will provide its enhanced SIM-Based Licensing, or ESBL, to enterprise customers in China. As a result, CMHK enterprise customers will be able to gain BES12, which is a cross-platform EMM solution, which could be integrated with the wireless monthly subscriber billing.

Supports Other OS

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) said that its ESBL offer, in combination with BES12, will support Windows Phones, Android, BlackBerry 10 and iOS. The company’s current offer will allow CMHK to resell its enterprise customers’ licenses for EMM services as a combination offer, which will come up with data, as well as airtime plans.

The smartphone maker said that ESBL allows CMHK to provide granular monthly billing, as well as the capacity to merge all users into one billing date in a month. This will help CMHK make it easy for customer’s to pay for EMM services of BlackBerry. This could be easily selected at the sale point of the carrier. Additionally, ESBL will also be merged with the current carrier provisioning systems of CMHK. This will help spot a customer’s current licensing status and up-sell opportunities.

Operational Costs

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) said that the ESBL offer will enable enterprise customers with an enhanced purchasing experience, resulting in consolidated operational costs into one invoice per month. The migration process of license is eliminated as ESBL licensing includes upgraded versions, as well as updates. The company said that the enterprises with Bring Your Own Device policies would also enjoy the option of buying Bring Your Own Licenses with ESBL.

CMHK’s CMO, Alan Chow, said that it was committed to providing the highest satisfaction levels to its customers by launching the most advanced technology, as well as innovation. Its alliance with BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is just part of the efforts to extend the gains of ESBL to its customers. BES12 offers extended EMM capacities to manage the deployment of any mobile model, like COPE, COBO, and BYOD and is established on BlackBerry’s network.
