Why Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA)’s CEO Elon Musk Is Worried About Flying Cars?
Innovation and development are part and parcel of any industry, and the automobile sector too is undergoing such a situation. For instance, vehicles are being made with the help of battery, to reduce the dependence on oil, which produces more carbon, resulting in climate change. Therefore, it was a bit of a surprise that Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA)’s CEO, Elon Musk, aired his opinion about flying cars. His views might suggest that he appears to be worried. However, he has issued clarifications.
Pros And Cons
In a blog, Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO clarified that there was a need to judge the advantages and disadvantages of flying cars. His clarification came on the back of news on Sunday that Musk was worried about flying cars. He has reportedly said that if there were flying cars, he wondered where they would land, whether on anyone’s head. Aside from this, he also said that flying cars would be vulnerable to the weather conditions.
However, through micro-blogging site Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR), he seems to have refined his opinion on flying cars. Now, he said that he was not against flying cars, and that he very much favors it, contrary to what the press has reported. Musk said that, if the advantage of flying cars was traveling in 3D fast, the risk factor was that the possibility of a falling car on the head was much greater. In bad weather, the flying car might be grounded.
Already On Test Run
Several firms are planning to launch ‘roadable airplanes’ to be available in the market during the next few years time. There is already testing of flying cars going on. Terrafugia has been involved in testing flying cars and it started accepting deposits.
As the flying cars are set to arrive, Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA)’s CEO comments appear to have come too late for any expert to clarify the doubts he raised.
