Apple Inc. (AAPL) Working On Changes With Regard To ‘iPad In Education’
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is said to be working on easing distributing its apps as far as education is concerned. The company’s significant evolutions will help education through iPads in the classroom. The latest change is that apps will be distributed to schools without any ID, to every tablet from the technology bellwether. The news comes a few days ahead of the company’s media meet on March 9, where it was expected to throw more light on its wearable device.
Elimination of Generic ID
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has reportedly told that ‘the change should eliminate’ the requirement for a generic ID primarily for getting content on the iPad. The company also disclosed that the schools would be provided with an option to keep students from purchasing without their approval.
The company indicated that schools would be able to establish, as well as manage, Apple IDs for their students sometime in 2016. The company intends to give such access through iCloud. Administrators would be provided with permission to reset passwords for students. The technology bellwether has assured that its changes will comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has also reportedly been streamlining its deployment actions by integrating several programs into one. This will cut down the work for big-scale deployments ideally.
Unlike other products, the company received mixed results on the deployment of iPads in schools. Following cost overruns, a big deal with the United School District of Los Angeles was scrapped, though it signed several other agreements globally. It was due to problems faced by students bypassing restrictions on the browser and concerns about favoritism towards Apple products without looking into other options.
The scrapping of the deal by Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) with USD allows other devices like Windows and Chromebooks to be deployed. While some schools are adopting a similar course of action, citing cost, some other cases suggested that easier administration features, or options like built-in keyboards, provide some comfort.
