Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL) has partnered with online payment service WePay to offer their customers to use the Google Wallet online payment feature. The Google Wallet integration with WePay will allow users to perform secure mobile based transactions with just a few clicks, much like what PayPal provides its customers.

TechCrunch reports that WePay will integrate Google’s Instant Pay API into their online infrastructure, thus letting its customers use the Google Wallet. This new feature will create a solution that can certainly compete with the leading and popular online payment service PayPal.

Comments from WePay

WePay says that they will offer to their customers the ability to use Google Wallet. WePay’s customers include Invoice ASAP, Care.com, Constant Contact, FreshBooks, GoFundMe, and Meetup. Invoice ASAP who is a customer of WePay has over 200,000 small time business customers with invoices to be paid, and the 2-click Google Wallet payment option will bring users an easier way to handle payments on time. Richard Aberman, the co-founder and Vice President of WePay said that “It’s part of a new distribution model for Google Wallet and shows their commitment to it, we’re excited to be the first to use it.”

According to a research by WePay, over 20% of active transactions are initiated on mobile phones, and 70% of their own customers opened invoices in their mobile handsets. Entering the credit card details during the process is painful on mobile. Aberman blames the experience and the options provided to users to make online payments that take a lot of time to add payment information. Additionally, Aberman also mentioned that WePay was already on the verge of integrating Apple Pay onto their service. This will allow WePay customers to have a choice of payment options.

Google hopes to have other payment services join WePay to take advantage of the Instant Buy API and allow Google Wallet.
