Tesla Motors Inc (TSLA)’s Dual-Motor Model S Can Travel 60mph In 3.2 Seconds
Even as Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) was busy rolling out the updated version of its Roadster model, the company had something else up its sleeves shortly. The company was about to add some acceleration to the Model S with the Model S P85D.
Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA)’s standard Model S p85 can reach 60 mph within 5.9 seconds from zero level. However, the dual-motor fitted Model S P85D, the company’s newest car, can reach the speed of 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds from zero level, clearly differentiating itself from its predecessor.
Interestingly, the YouTube channel DragTimes tested the two models in a race. The channel normally tests the acceleration, as well as, top speeds of some of the world’s fastest cars. Within seconds, the black dual-motor fitted Model S P85D, pulls ahead and maintains its lead.
The first owner of the Model S with dual motor, Kevin Babineau, has reportedly commented that it looked like racer stuff with the way it takes off and slots around corners. He said that it was so fast and that he did not experience the kind of speed before. He was probably referring about electric cars. There were already a number of comments like fascinating, roller coaster stuff, exciting and so on for the newest car. It might keep pouring.
