Apple Serves Billions of iMessages Daily; How does that compare to WhatsApp, BBM? (Updated)

According to MacRumors, from today’s annual stockholders meeting, Apple Inc (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook revealed that the company handles billions of iMessages and 15 to 20 million FaceTime calls daily. (Update: Bloomberg/MacRumors indicated the wrong number and the actual reveal was “billions” for imessage and over 40 billion push notifications daily)

In January 2013, iMessages were at 2 billion per day signifying the intense growth rate.
