Dogs of the Dow for 2014

The Dogs of the Dow is an investment strategy which proposes that an investor annually select for investment the ten Dow Jones Industrial Average stocks whose dividend is the highest fraction of their price. While we don’t endorse such a strategy it’s always an interesting year in review so we credit the data from Yield data as of 12/31/2013

  1. AT&T (T) 5.23% dividend yield
  2. Verizon (VZ) 4.31% dividend yield
  3. Merck (MRK) 3.52% dividend yield
  4. Intel (INTC) 3.47% dividend yield
  5. Pfizer (PFE) 3.40% dividend yield
  6. McDonald’s (MCD) 3.34% dividend yield
  7. Chevron (CVX) 3.20% dividend yield
  8. General Electric (GE) 3.14% dividend yield
