The board hopes to make a decision within the end of the year. Alan Mulally is the CEO of Ford (F), and Satya Nadella is the Vice President of cloud and enterprise at Microsoft. Previously reported internal candidates like former Nokia (NOK) CEO Stephen Elop who rejoined the company in the purchase of the Hardware division from Nokia, and Vice President of Business Development Tony Bates “remain in the mix”. Sources cautioned that the situation remains very fluid.
